Informatech are a Canberra‑based ICT consultancy with over 200 staff, specialising in Testing, Technical Services, Project Delivery and Security. Off the back of an outstanding year where we expanded into new markets and grew key accounts, we were recognised on the Australian Financial Review’s Fast 100 List for the third year in a row. Our growth is continuing, and we are excited to offer a permanent opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join Informatech while supporting a major Federal Government department. This role is Canberra based, and requires 2-3 days a week in the office.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform or Bicep, ensuring version‑controlled and repeatable deployments
• Deliver and support secure, enterprise‑scale cloud environments with a focus on automation, scalability and operational resilience
• Lead DevOps initiatives including CI/CD pipeline design, infrastructure automation and environment management
• Apply ACSC Essential 8 and ISM controls, implementing automated compliance checks, logging and incident response readiness
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to align solutions with business and project outcomes
• Mentor team members and drive continuous improvement across DevOps practices

Required Skills and Experience

• Broad cloud domain knowledge with proven experience in Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
• Strong proficiency in IaC (Terraform or Bicep) and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Demonstrated ability to deploy secure, scalable cloud solutions integrating testing, monitoring and release automation
• Experience working within Commonwealth security frameworks and supporting accreditation and incident response
• Ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Tertiary ICT qualifications or equivalent experience are highly regarded
• As this role is in Federal Government, Australian Citizenship and a current NV1 clearance are required to be considered for this role.
