Role: Cloud Engineer with Power BI

Location: Sydney

Job Type : Contract

Technical Cloud Engineer position with expertise in Power BI, FinOps, AWS, and Azure. The role focuses on optimizing cloud operations, managing costs, and providing insights through Power BI dashboards and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize cloud usage, costs, and performance metrics.
• Provide actionable insights through data analytics to support decision-making and cloud cost optimization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Cloud Architecture & Management:
• Support the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions on AWS and Azure.
• Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• FinOps Expertise:
• Implement and manage FinOps practices to optimize cloud cost management and forecasting.
• Provide insights to reduce costs while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Work with finance and operations teams to establish budgets and cost reporting frameworks.
• Automation & Optimization:
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts for consistent and repeatable deployments.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve cloud resource efficiency.
• Compliance & Governance:
• Ensure cloud environments adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Develop and enforce tagging policies and resource allocation standards to enhance traceability and accountability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, analytics, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of FinOps principles and practices, with a proven track record of cloud cost optimization.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
