About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join a dedicated team focused on upgrading and modernizing an existing AWS environment to align with Gen3 requirements. This role will center on upgrading an AWS account , optimizing network infrastructure, and orchestrating component redeployments and migrations across multiple AWS accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the in-place upgrade of an existing AWS account.
- Assess, design, and adjust AWS network components (VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, etc.) to meet Gen3 architecture requirements.
- Redeploy multiple components with updated configurations and ensure alignment with best practices and security standards.
- Coordinate and execute the migration of selected components to other AWS accounts owned by partner teams or stakeholders.
- Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot issues and optimize AWS services during upgrade and migration processes.
- Document architecture changes, configuration updates, and migration plans clearly and comprehensively.
Required Qualifications
- 9+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS infrastructure.
- Proven experience with AWS account upgrades, migrations, and network configuration.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, including but not limited to VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, etc.
- Familiarity with security best practices in AWS (IAM policies, security groups, encryption, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification.
- Experience working in large, complex, multi-account AWS environments (AWS Organizations, Control Tower, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in regulated environments or with compliance-driven requirements.
