CDW is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Azure and Nutanix technologies to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing both physical and virtual servers, as well as a range of infrastructure services across both on-premises and cloud environments. You will play a key part in ensuring the security, performance, and availability of our infrastructure, and drive innovation in alignment with our business goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage physical and virtual servers, both on-premises and hosted in Azure, as well as IaaS/PaaS services, VDI, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure components.
  • Oversee authentication and authorization within Entra ID, including SSO (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, Kerberos), multi-factor authentication, and role-based access control.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to optimize performance, cost, and availability of infrastructure resources.
  • Ensure security through effective management of certificates and secrets across both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Patch and upgrade servers and infrastructure software to ensure compliance and security standards.
  • Manage the lifecycle of server hardware and coordinate occasional travel to North American locations for hardware management.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies that align with business objectives.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Respond to escalated tickets and provide direct support to end users for issue resolution.
  • Participate in after-hours support rotation.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer.
  • Expertise in Windows Server, Hybrid Active Directory, and Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
  • Advanced understanding of Entra ID, federation protocols, and SSO implementation.
  • Proficient in M365 administration.
  • Experience with virtualized environments such as Nutanix, VMware, and Azure Local.
  • Knowledge of Azure Backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices for on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Solid understanding of networking technologies.
  • Experience with MECM (SCCM) and Intune administration.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly document processes and procedures.


Good to Have:

  • Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, AI, and IoT.
  • Experience with Microsoft Security technologies (e.g., Defender, Sentinel, security compliance tools).
  • Training or experience in Design Thinking.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
