Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Cloud Platform Engineer based in Melbourne, VIC. The Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing cloud infrastructure and platforms. Daily tasks include troubleshooting, integrating new software solutions, overseeing programming, and managing databases to ensure optimal performance and scalability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives and enhance cloud-based solutions is also a key responsibility.

Qualifications

Role : Cloud platform Engineer with expertise in Devops & SRE base.

Responsibilities

 Cloud Migration perspective :

• Plan, design, and execute the migration of workloads.
• Assess existing infrastructure ,recommend and implement cloud-native solutions.
• Conduct impact analysis to access application dependencies and minimize migration risks.
• Ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architecture.
• Perform pre- and post-migration testing to validate performance and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration with minimal downtime.

Cloud Site Reliability Engineering (CSRE) perspective :

• Monitor and maintain the availability, reliability, and performance of cloud-based systems.
• Implement and manage robust monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Troubleshoot incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and improve system reliability.
• Automate operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

DevOps perspective :

• Design, develop, and manage CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate cloud resource provisioning.
• Implement containerization and orchestration using tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize build and deployment workflows.

Skills Required

Cloud Expertise:

• Proficiency in cloud platform – AWS, and expertise in migration workloads doing impact analysis and ensuring smooth transitions
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and services( especially ECS, Lambda, Event bridge,SQS,SNS,S3,DynamoDB,AuroraDB,System manager, KMS, CloudFront, Secret manager, AWS Certificate manager, VPC, load balancers, direct connect, network firewall, AWS TGW,AWS Private link,route53, SCP,AWS Config,.)

DevOps Practices

• Experience with CI/CD tools ( especially Github, BuildKite,.).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Monitoring and Reliability

• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Sumologic ,PagerDuty, CloudWatch, Cloud trial Orca,.).
• Experience in troubleshooting and improving system reliability.

Containerization

• Hands-on experience with Docker for container orchestration.
