Job Summary – Cloud Project Manager (Jefferies, NYC)

  • Lead overall project governance and execution for data & technology initiatives in the banking domain.
  • Act as key liaison, ensuring effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; translate complex technical concepts for broad understanding.
  • Apply project management best practices across schedule, integration, scope, cost, HR, risk, quality, and communications.
  • Develop and maintain project plans (using Microsoft Project), track issues, deliverables, milestones, and project status daily.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure timely project deliverables.
  • Monitor and report project progress, ensuring alignment and transparency across all teams.
  • Drive large, complex, cross-functional programs from inception through planning, execution, and lessons learned.
  • Manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and challenges to achieve business outcomes.
  • Oversee program activities, expand offerings, and enhance program quality by identifying new opportunities.
  • Gather and synthesize requirements from multiple functions, demonstrating solid knowledge to stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Establish project governance processes for timely decision-making, issue escalation, and resolution.
  • Implement common processes, tools, and metrics for clear project management and reporting.
  • Develop and execute strategies for risk mitigation and overall program success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field from a US institution.
  • Minimum 7 years as a Technical Project Manager, with experience in data and analytics projects.
  • Solid knowledge of data analytics tools/methods (SQL, Power BI/Tableau, data warehousing, ETL).
  • Strong technical skills with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), data pipelines, and big data technologies.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, DevOps tools.
  • Proficient in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience managing projects in an onshore-offshore model.
  • Prior experience in the banking domain is required.
  • Must be a local candidate able to work onsite in NYC 3-4 days/week.
