Lead AWS DevOps Engineer

We are working with a global consultancy, who specialise in cloud transformation programmes within highly regulated sectors. This is a rare opportunity to drive innovative DevOps strategies at scale, with direct impact on critical national services.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the implementation of secure, high-availability cloud solutions across multiple AWS regions
• Design and enforce cloud governance and automation standards (IaC, CI/CD, cost control, FinOps)
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and security teams to align delivery with business and compliance objectives
• Implement security-first DevOps using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and CloudWatch
• Lead threat detection, logging, and incident response strategies across environments
• Define DevSecOps practices and mentor junior engineers in modern cloud security and automation

Experience:

• Strong leadership in cloud security, especially within AWS (IAM, GuardDuty, KMS, Shield, Security Hub, etc.)
• Deep understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC2, NIST)
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• Knowledge of container security and orchestration (EKS, ECS, Docker, IRSA, RBAC, etc.)
• Hands-on experience in CI/CD tooling with security baked into pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation, monitoring, and infrastructure management
• Background in cloud-native security, cost optimization, and scalable architectures
• Bonus: AWS certifications, Kubernetes experience, FinOps exposure
