DevSecOps Engineer

Synapri

Kent, England, United Kingdom

Security Engineer required to join a leading broadcasting company in Kent. The role plays a key part in strengthening the organisation’s security posture across its AWS cloud environment, supporting both project-driven and business-as-usual security initiatives. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with a variety of teams to embed security into all aspects of the digital infrastructure.

The Security Engineer will take a proactive approach and hands-on role in identifying, analysing, and remediating security vulnerabilities across the company’s AWS environment. Unlike traditional models where cyber security teams would escalate issues for others to resolve, this role is designed to bridge that operational gap—working side-by-side with cloud and infrastructure teams to drive practical, collaborative solutions. The initial focus will be on improving vulnerability management capabilities within AWS Security Hub, followed by developing a broader understanding of the company’s threat and attack surface to help mitigate associated risks. The Security Engineer will also contribute to embedding secure practices across the software development lifecycle and assist in maintaining compliance with recognised standards.

Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in AWS cloud security tools, particularly with identifying and mitigating risks
  • Proficient in DevSecOps approaches and automation
  • Hands-on knowledge of Terraform
  • Working experience with Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO27001 and CIS benchmarks

This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as the Security Engineer will work alongside a Security Architect and another Security engineer, also regularly interacting with stakeholders from across the business, including Digital, Cloud, Infrastructure, DevOps, GRC, and third-party partners. The ideal candidate will be collaborative by nature, with the ability to translate complex security issues into clear, actionable insights, promoting continuous improvement and security by design internally.

This is a hybrid role and offers the opportunity to create a long-lasting impact within a very well established organisation who are committed to strengthening their security posture maturity. Apply now to be considered!
