GitLab Administrator / DevOps / AWS / Kubernetes - remote - Romania (or any EU country)

Technical Expertise:

- A minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in GitLab administration, including:

Installation, upgrades, and configuration of GitLab, including Geo-replication setups.

Development and management of CI/CD pipelines using the GitLab Environment Toolkit, Terraform, and Ansible.

Implementation of infrastructure as code and integration with identity management systems (e.g., SAML, RBAC).

- Strong proficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

- Solid experience working with Kubernetes, particularly in conjunction with GitLab Runner.

- Familiarity with DevOps automation tools and security best practices.

GitLab Administrator/DevOps Engineer to support an upcoming project involving the installation and advanced configuration of a GitLab environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GitLab administration, particularly in geo distributed setups aligned with the Cloud Native Hybrid architecture.

Candidate is expected to be fully operational and capable of contributing from day one.

Scope of Work:

- Develop a pipeline for the GitLab Environment Toolkit, including test stages for Terraform and Ansible.

- Implement a configuration-as-code mechanism for GitLab config management.

- Create end-user documentation for SAML group mapping and enforce SAML group usage over direct addition members.

- Investigate and implement enhanced RBAC and isolation strategies for managing multiple groups within GitLab.

- Upgrade GitLab to version 18.

- Adopt the GitLab Runner Infrastructure Toolkit module by adding it to the internal registry and documenting it.
