About The Role

We're hiring a Junior DevOps Engineer to support our infrastructure, automation, and deployment efforts across cloud environments. This is a contract position ideal for someone with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in CI/CD, cloud platforms, and scripting who's eager to build on their DevOps skills in a fast-paced, production-focused setting.

This role is remote, but the engineer must be based in the Toronto area for occasional team syncs or client meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with automation of infrastructure deployments using IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
  • Monitor system health and support incident response workflows
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and platform teams to streamline builds and deployments
  • Support containerized environments (Docker, basic Kubernetes exposure a plus)
  • Write and maintain scripts for automation (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
  • Document infrastructure configurations and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in a DevOps, Cloud Operations, or SRE-type role
  • Working knowledge of cloud services (preferably AWS, but Azure/GCP also welcome)
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD tools, and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi)
  • Exposure to Docker and containerization workflows
  • Good troubleshooting skills and eagerness to learn
  • Must be based in the Greater Toronto Area and eligible to work in Canada
  • Bonus: Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus)
