What you’ll do

As a Network-Focused GCP Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and managing the networking foundation of a secure and compliant Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This environment supports DevOps teams globally and is used to host business-critical applications.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage GCP network infrastructure (VPCs, subnets, routing, peering, VPNs, DNS, firewalls)
• Build and maintain firewall configurations and security controls using tools like Cloud Armor
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ideally with Azure DevOps
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., DORA, NIS2)
• Conduct monitoring, health checks, and continuous improvement of the platform
• Work within an Agile/DevSecOps engineering team

You’ll join a large international company that’s leading the way in using public cloud at scale in the banking world. Security, automation, and innovation are at the core of everything they do.

The platform team builds and manages everything in-house, helping DevOps teams work safely and efficiently in the cloud. You’ll work in a skilled, friendly team of around 14 to 18 engineers, split between network and policy specializations. The team works in an Agile way and values clear communication, ownership, and collaboration.

What you bring

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with GCP networking in complex environments
• Deep knowledge of GCP networking components: VPCs, subnetting, routing, DNS, VPN, firewalling
• Proven experience with Terraform and ideally Azure DevOps
• Experience in network engineering
• Understanding of IAM, policy controls, and security tooling (e.g., Cloud Armor)
• Enterprise/cloud experience, preferably in financial services or regulated industries
• Independent, proactive, and collaborative team player
• GCP or Cisco network certifications are a strong plus (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, GCP Cloud Engineer)
