Platform Engineer - Startup - London

A well-funded, fast-growing AI company that’s solving complex real-world problems using real-time data and machine learning is looking for their first Platform / DevOps Engineer hire. The product is already in production, providing real world value, and scaling rapidly.

This Platform / DevOps Engineer role will own the infrastructure, security and work closely with the engineering org to provide enhanced DevEx and promote a DevOps culture on a critical user-facing platform, with the chance to take real ownership and influence across architecture, design, and implementation.

Key responsibilities:

• Owning all things Cloud (AWS).
• Developing and implementing CI/CD and automation pipelines.
• Managing and building infrastructure to support huge amounts of real-time data.
• Establishing and maintaining observability systems.
• Assisting with compliance for security standards.
• Working closely with developers to support their efficiency.

Key Skills:

• Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform) in AWS.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Background in software engineering (Python or Go ideally but any modern language).
• Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure.
• Observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
• Familiarity with maintaining security compliance standards (SOC 2).
• Experience building high-volume data-processing pipelines.
• A high degree of self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
