Production Reliability Engineer - Elite Systematic Hedge Fund - London

A world-leading systematic hedge fund, renowned for its cutting-edge technology and rigorous engineering standards, is seeking a Production Reliability Engineer to join one of its most high-impact internal teams in London. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and is passionate about ensuring the reliability and performance of complex trading systems.

You will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing the production environment, providing both L1 and L2 support across a diverse application stack. You'll also take ownership of incident and problem management processes, working closely with global teams to maintain system stability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver global support coverage, including start-of-day and intraday health checks for trading systems
• Rapidly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal impact on trading operations
• Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams to improve observability, tooling, and automation
• Provide first and second-line support for critical applications and infrastructure
• Lead incident response and problem management across the full technology stack

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong L1/L2 support experience in high-availability environments
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python
• Solid understanding of Linux/UNIX operating systems
• Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized environments
• Familiarity with databases such as Sybase, SQL, or KDB
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with global teams
