Job Description: Senior DevOps Engineer – Azure & Security

Role Overview

We're looking for a highly skilled, proactive Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Azure and infrastructure security. You’ll own the full lifecycle of cloud services, automate secure CI/CD pipelines, enforce compliance, and continuously improve performance and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Infrastructure & Tenant Management

Manage and optimize Azure subscriptions and tenants for compliance, security, cost, scalability, and availability.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance key Azure services—including VMs, Storage, Networking, AKS, and AAD.

DevOps Pipeline & Automation

Build and operate CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (YAML) and GitHub Actions.

Automate resource provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and Bicep.

Improve observability across environments via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.

Security & Compliance (CIS Hardening & OS Updates)

Apply CIS benchmarks for Windows and Linux systems to harden OS security stackoverflow.com+11devops.com+11medium.com+11nexusitgroup.comsimplilearn.com.

Patch and update OS across Test, UAT, and Production; remediate vulnerabilities proactively.

Conduct audits and assessments to maintain compliance with CIS standards.

Optimization & Innovation

Analyze cloud deployments, provide recommendations on architecture, security, resilience, and cost savings.

Lead POCs to trial new tools, solve bottlenecks, and drive scalable improvements.

Collaboration & Advisory

Work closely with development, product, and operations teams to influence and secure their cloud architectures.

Provide thought leadership to stakeholders and product owners, challenging assumptions and encouraging best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Azure Cloud & Infrastructure: Strong experience managing Azure Tenant, VMs, Storage, Networking, AAD, and AKS.

DevOps & Automation: Expertise in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, YAML pipelines; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep); scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Security & OS Hardening: Proven application of CIS benchmarks, vulnerability remediation, OS upgrades. Use of Azure Security Center, Defender, Key Vault .

Monitoring & Logging: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights—plus Prometheus/Grafana as a plus.

Containers: Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) experience.

Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify weak spots, suggest enhancements, and execute improvements.

Soft Skills: Proactive, self-driven, strong communicator, and able to mentor peers.
