We’re seeking a seasoned infrastructure leader to orchestrate a hybrid Kubernetes-based big data platform for a major banking client. You’ll spearhead architecture, deployments, security, and resilience across on-prem and cloud environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain on-prem Kubernetes clusters using proprietary packaging.
• Stand up and operate Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
• Deploy and optimize core data services: Spark, Kafka, Ranger within Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps to automate application delivery.
• Establish end-to-end encryption: data-at-rest via TDE and in-transit via TLS.
• Define and enforce granular access policies (Role-Based Access Control) using Apache Ranger across Spark, Kafka, and Datahub.
• Execute tokenization of sensitive personal data using Protegrity solutions.
• Architect tiered data storage solutions (hot/cold partitioning) integrated with ADLS Gen2 via S3 protocol.
• Integrate platform metrics and logs with the bank’s Central Observability Platform and build custom Grafana dashboards.
• Define and execute backup and disaster recovery plans for ADLS and Isilon storage.

Requirements

• 15+ years in enterprise-scale infrastructure, data platforms, or cloud-native environments
• Proven mastery of Kubernetes (on-prem & AKS)
• Deep experience deploying Spark, Kafka, Ranger, Datahub, Airflow, Trino, Iceberg
• Strong automation skills using Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD tools
• Expertise in data encryption protocols (TDE, TLS), RBAC frameworks, and security compliance
• Track record migrating petabyte-scale datasets and implementing backup/disaster recovery
• Familiarity with Protegrity or similar data tokenization technologies

This is an initial 12-month contract based in Singapore.
