Senior Site Reliability Engineer

New Value Solutions

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design and implement robust observability solutions for Azure-based services. You will be responsible for Dynatrace monitoring, automating key processes with Terraform and PowerShell, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability. This is for a full-time 12 month term position


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Dynatrace SME: configure, optimize, and manage end-to-end monitoring solutions
  • Design and implement monitoring strategies to ensure visibility into performance, availability, and reliability
  • Work with Engineering & Platform teams to ensure services emit the right metrics and logs
  • Lead the rollout and adoption of observability tools, practices, and frameworks
  • Partner with Incident Management to resolve critical issues, conduct post-incident reviews, and implement preventive measures
  • Proactively identify and mitigate bottlenecks, performance degradation, and reliability risks
  • Drive automation initiatives using Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, PowerShell, and IaC principles
  • Conduct capacity-planning assessments, analyze utilization trends, and forecast resource requirements
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of recent SRE experience with Dynatrace observability in Azure environments
  • Hands-on proficiency with Dynatrace configuration, customization, and optimization
  • Solid experience in distributed tracing, logging, metrics collection, and anomaly detection
  • Expertise automating infrastructure using Terraform, PowerShell, Ansible, and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion
  • Relevant certifications (Dynatrace, AWS, Kubernetes, etc.) are a plus
  • Must be able to attend 2-3 days per week in the Richmond, BC office

The hourly rate range for this position is $80 – $110, with the final rate based on consultant experience and fit for the role.
