Senior Site Reliability Engineer in
Canada.
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the infrastructure that powers innovative, AI-driven software for the life sciences sector. You'll work closely with platform, engineering, and product teams to build robust, scalable systems and support high-performance production environments. This position involves designing cloud-native systems, improving observability, automating key processes, and helping teams respond to and learn from production incidents. You'll be part of a collaborative, remote-first culture committed to operational excellence, learning, and impact.
Accountabilities:
- Build, deploy, and maintain observability platforms to support team-wide metrics and dashboard visibility
- Lead system design using cloud-native patterns to ensure scalability and reliability across environments
- Collaborate with engineering teams during production incidents and support post-incident reviews
- Enhance incident response protocols and help promote a culture of reliability and continuous improvement
- Automate manual processes to reduce developer toil and improve overall team productivity
- Act as a subject matter expert and mentor on SRE best practices
- Communicate architectural decisions across impacted teams and contribute to cross-functional planning
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role, preferably in a senior capacity
- Deep expertise in observability, incident response, and system reliability in cloud environments (GCP preferred, AWS also valued)
- Strong knowledge of cloud design patterns and experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript codebases
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
- Experience with backend infrastructure and a keen interest in scaling AI-driven platforms
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-driven mindset
- Passion for continuous learning and sharing best practices
