Responsibilities:

• Improve system reliability through monitoring, automation, and feedback loops.
• Document processes, create runbooks, and share best practices.
• Collaborate with developers to enhance performance, security, and availability.
• Respond to incidents, resolve escalations, and conduct postmortems.
• Manage error budgets and optimize observability tools.
• Mentor teams on SRE best practices.

Recommended Skills:

• Experience in VMware daily operations and troubleshooting.
• Understating of vSphere Clustering terms HA, DRS, VMotion
• Fundamental understanding of VMware vSphere Networking terms switches, port group, VLAN, IP subnetting & routing.
• Fundamental understating on Linux commands (ls, df -h, VI, CAT, chmod & chown)
• Understanding of Storage basic terms LUN, zoning, masking.
• Understanding of vSAN fundamental, disk groups & storage policies.
• Hands on experience on VMware vSphere upgrade
• Hands on experience on L1 trouble shooting like extracting logs, host connectivity issues, password expiry & VM power on issues.

Good to Have Skills:

• Understanding & Experience on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Understanding on NSX routing, edge nodes, Microsegmentation.
• Understanding of vRealize suite products – vRealize Automation, vRealize operations and vRealize log insight
• Fundamental understanding of Windows Servers, NTP, DNS, & DHCP.

Academic & Certifications

• 6-10 years of experience in a technical position on VMware vSphere Environment
• Preferably bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Good to have VMware Certified Professional on Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) certification.
