Site Reliability Engineer – Software & Application Focus - Sydney or Melbourne | Hybrid (3 days in-office)


We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong applications background to ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of core business applications. This role sits within IT Operations, reporting to the IT Operations Manager, and plays a key part in optimising system availability and automation.

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Ensure system reliability & performance – Maintain high availability the core applications, proactively informing stakeholders on application performance and improvements.
  • Automate & optimise – Reduce toil by identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement – Facilitate Problem Incident Reviews (PIRs) and support backlog prioritisation for refactoring and repair.
  • Monitoring & visibility – Manage logging, alerting, and monitoring systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Enhance CI/CD processes – Improve deployment speed and reliability through Azure Pipelines and automation.
  • Stakeholder collaboration – Work with Product Owners to balance new features, bug fixes, automation, and system maintenance.
  • Capacity planning & reporting – Provide insights into system performance, scalability, and improvements.


What We’re Looking For:


  • 3-5 years of experience in software engineering using modern programming languages.
  • Strong applications and software engineering background with knowledge of infrastructure.
  • Experience with CI/CD, orchestration, automation, and DevSecOps.
  • Proficiency in Azure Pipelines and Agile/Iterative development methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
