We are currently working on behalf of our client, a leading European provider in cloud infrastructure and hosting services, to find a motivated Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/d) who will be part of a talented team protecting the company’s hosting products and infrastructure from cyber security attacks. Your Responsibilities

• Develop and adjust defense logic to mitigate DDoS attacks on the network and application layers.
• Optimize current pipelines for automatic threat detection and mitigation, including reporting.
• Collaborate with system administrators to automate operational tasks and rollouts.
• Provide interfaces for integration with other teams to improve the hosting products.
• Administer and troubleshoot a high-availability, complex infrastructure, including participation in an on-call service rotation.
• Contribute to company goals by ensuring efficient operating architecture, lifecycle management, and lean processes in an agile DevOps environment.

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification.
• Strong interest in security topics and a solid understanding of networks.
• Several years of experience in system-level development, with proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Go, C, Python, PHP, or Bash.
• Experience in writing application logic with Lua and using nginx for reverse proxy or web application firewall (ideal).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Knowledge of BGP, flowspec, anycast routing, and Linux network protocols.
• Analytical skills to evaluate DDoS attacks and implement countermeasures effectively.
• Familiarity with Open Source technologies and a strong preference for Linux.
• Fluent in English, with German being a bonus.
