MCS Group is working with one of their closest clients as they seek to appoint a Site Reliability Engineer to their growing team. An award winning business which has seen exponential growth over the last 2 years off the back of their transformative technology being utilised by organisations across the UK and Ireland and beyond. They've grown by over 100 staff in the last 12 months alone and have a strong pipeline of work.

(Hybrid - County Louth)

The Role

• Design, implement, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Contribute to the automation of operational processes and deployments using Python and other scripting tools.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Develop and enforce cloud security strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Incident Response and troubleshooting

The Person

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Commercial experience managing cloud technologies and services (AWS)
• Expertise in enterprise system management, including package installations, automation, and system administration.
• Proficiency in Python, Unix shell scripting, and PowerShell.
• A solid understanding of design patterns and coding principles is required.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, and IP networking, covering routing, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing. Commercial experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch.
• Understanding of SRE principles, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.
• Full right to work in Ireland or UK. The client is unable to sponsor for this role.
