About the role
As part of Breville's global Technology Services team, the Systems Cloud Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation, performance, and continual improvement of our infrastructure systems. This hands-on position is responsible for managing incidents, service requests, and project initiatives, while maintaining system health across cloud platforms such as Azure, on-premise infrastructure, and backup and recovery environments. This individual will collaborate closely with internal teams, external vendors, and the Enterprise Services Manager to support business operations, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive mindset, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service to both internal stakeholders and customers across our global operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Respond and resolve incidents and requests raised by customers and system generated alerts, internal project tasks, quality control activities and other activities to support the overall delivery of the business platform to Breville.
- Monitor compliance to Breville's standard operating policies & procedures, ensuring standardization of the business platforms and minimization of exposure to data loss and licensing compliance.
- Coordinate External Vendors for warranty and maintenance of equipment, software and hosting as required.
- Assist other Breville Technology Services groups as required in the delivery of Services to the organization.
- Management and ongoing development of the Breville infrastructure systems. Including but not limited to Azure Cloud and other technology and security stacks.
- Identifying, recommending and implement recommendations and best practices of Enterprise Services systems
- Development of training and documentation of new and existing systems and mentoring of other Technology Services staff
- Project management of Enterprise Services initiatives
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Services Manager on pragmatic balance between tech, BAU and project work.
- Ensure all systems are maintained to the newest patch and software versions where possible while minimizing downtime.
- Monitoring, maintaining and configuration of global backup systems to ensure continuity of systems, including recovery and restoration during a DR situation
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
- 5+ years supporting and administering Microsoft server operating systems
- Minimum of 3yrs supporting and administering Microsoft Azure cloud
- 3-5yrs supporting and administering VMware and Active Directory
- 3-5yrs supporting and administering SAN, NAS and Shared Storage systems
- Minimum of 3yrs supporting and administering Microsoft O365
- Supporting and administering network topology, including but not limited to Cisco Meraki
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business or related disciplines
- 3-5 supporting and administering backup technologies, including but not limited to Veeam and Azure Backups
DESIRABLE:
- Supporting and administering Microsoft Hyper-V
- ITIL Foundation v3 Certification or Higher
- Microsoft Azure Certification
- Supporting and administering Microsoft SCCM
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL:
- Experience working within complex & diverse IT environments.
- Have proven experience working in Cloud Engineering & Administration within medium to large enterprises
- Strong Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and governance including networking, policy and security concepts and capabilities.
- Experience working with ITIL aligned processes (Incident, Problem, Change & Release)
- Experience in scooping, designed and implementation of infrastructure solutions
- Experience in abiding to best security practices
- Self-managing project tasks
DESIRABLE:
- Experience with Dynamics 365 / AX in the consumer goods or retail/wholesale industry.
- Proven experience with scripting Languages and Infrastructure as Code tools such as PowerShell
- Experience working with Project management methodologies (Agile, PMBOK, Prince2)
- Previous roles as a senior technical engineer
- Linux OS administration
